Education & Outreach at the Shubert
When art happens lives change! Our Education and Community Outreach programs change the lives of over 5,000 school children every year. We are committed to integrating the arts into our diverse community whether through a stellar performance or an interactive lesson in the classroom!
Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp
The Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp is a month-long camp for Connecticut 5th-8th grade students held at New Haven's state of the art Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School (next door to the Shubert Theatre). This innovative program gives students the opportunity to pursue the arts during the summer through a range of courses while giving them a head start on what they'd like to pursue in high school. Students may select courses based on their interest and strengths. Courses include: musical performance, theater, hip hop dance, glee club, digital photgraphy, sculpture, TV & video production and more!

This program is designed to provide New Haven based non-profit organizations with cultural and entertainment opportunities for those in the community who might not have the opportunity to experience the performing arts. Each season, free tickets are distributed to over 100 groups in the community through CCC. Performances generally include Broadway, dance, and family events.
Some of our policies have changed for the 2015-16 Season, so please review both the CCC FACT SHEET and the 2015-16 SHOW LISTING before applying!

“I believe children should be exposed to other cultures early in life; it makes for better understanding of different people. Thank you very much!” —C.W., Village Grandparent
