About the Artists

Michael Rose studied classical acting at Yale University and The London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts. For several years, he performed and taught theatre in San Francisco and Austin, Texas. Now back in New Haven, he directs and performs in plays with the Whitney Center Theatre Company, and he is known locally for his one-man show of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

Melissa Mathews is an actor, model, and multidisciplinary artist with a passion for bringing ideas to life. Originating from New Haven, Connecticut, she brings a strong presence across digital and live spaces. With a natural ability to develop concepts through performance and creation, she approaches every project with depth, vision, and purpose.
Known for her expressive range, zeal for life, and grounded faith, she continues to build a dynamic body of work across film, digital media, creative direction, and project management. In each project she pursues, she blends creativity, structure, and intention, producing work that leaves a lasting impact.

Scott Meikle is currently developing The King for production, a one-actor play based on King Lear, originally adapted and conceived by John Basinger.  Scott has appeared in productions at ARTFARM, Long Wharf Theatre, Hartford Stage Company, Denver Center Theatre Company, Denver University, and Ad Hoc Theatre Company of Denver. Scott teaches Theatre Arts at the Co-operative Arts and Humanities High School and previously taught Theatre at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport. Scott holds a BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut, and an MFA in Acting from the National Theatre Conservatory in Denver, Colorado.

Lucia Sheehan is a senior at Sacred Heart Academy and will attend New York University Tisch School of the Arts for Drama this fall. Her recent roles have included Belle in Scrooge and Marley at Legacy Theatre in Branford, CT; Cinderella in the Whitney Player’s Cinderella and Snow White in Sacred Heart Academy’s production of Once Upon a One More Time here at the Shubert Theater. Some of her other favorite roles have included Eurydice (Eurydice), Helena (Midsummer Night’s Dream), Mrs. Bucket (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Fiona (Shrek), Mrs. Wormwood (Matilda) and Cinderella (Into the Woods). Lucia completed the Legacy Theatre Conservatory, two years at Broadway Artists Alliance Summer Intensive and a course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Lucia is grateful to the organizers of Shakespeare Fest and is excited to participate.

Flynn Ayers is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from New Haven, Connecticut, with more than 100 original songs to her credit. A senior at Hamden Hall Country Day School, she has recently been accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston on a partial scholarship.
Flynn has been classically trained in piano for seven years under the direction of Rachael Jungkeit and studied voice for three years with opera coach Maggie Lieberman, in addition to training with Dr. Matthew Harrison, choir director at Hamden Hall. She began pursuing her dream of becoming a musician at just five years old, first collaborating with drummer Gary Fiandra and later with Nick Wadson while living in Bermuda. During her time there, her voice teacher Deanna Friesen and her school, Warwick Academy, helped nurture her lifelong love of singing.
Flynn recently won Bethlehem Fair’s annual “America’s Got Talent” competition and has been a finalist in the CMEA All-State Choir each year of high school. This is her second appearance at The Shubert, her first being a sold-out show featuring singer songwriters from The Elm City. Her theatrical credits include Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Regina George in “Mean Girls”.
The daughter of a disabled New Haven firefighter and the granddaughter and great-granddaughter of disabled veterans, Flynn is deeply committed to her community. She regularly performs The Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America at sporting events throughout Connecticut.

Kelly F. Burr has been performing and teaching Shakespeare all over Connecticut since high school when she made her Shakespearean debut as The Tempest’s Ariel on rollerblades. Other roles include Olivia (Twelfth Night), Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), and Dogberry (Much Ado About Nothing). She has trained with The Royal Shakespeare Company and RSC artistic directors Gregory Doran and John Barton. She has her master’s degree in Shakespeare and Theatre from The Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-Upon-Avon and is the producing artistic director of Scene 24 Productions. She currently works as an academic consultant for Valley Shakespeare Festival and coaches privately. (Kellyfburr.com.) Her original show, If We Really Were Witches, heads to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August of ‘26.

Julia Weston is delighted to return to the Shubert stage. Originally from Hartford, she is now a sophomore at Yale double-majoring in Theatre and Humanities. This school year Julia has held roles in Skeleton Crew (Shanita), Machinal (Young Woman), Orlando (Chorus), and Saniya’s Salon (Sherry) at Yale University. Regionally, Julia has performed with theatres including Harford Stage, Time’s Fool Company, Long Wharf Theatre, and Thrown Stone. Next semester, Julia will be abroad studying Shakespeare Performance with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in collaboration with NYU Tisch in London. A multidisciplinary artist, Julia also produces for film and theatre in her free time; recent credits include co-producing Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Yale University), assistant producing the interdisciplinary arts festival FLUXUS alongside The Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media, and a new music video for the up-and-coming folk band Clementine. Julia is also a screenwriter and co-wrote the feature film Lux et Veritas currently in production.

Olivia Twarowski is excited to perform at the Shubert for the first time. She is a senior at West Haven High School and has been acting since she was five years old. Olivia has been in 9 high school productions, preforming at West Haven Theatre Workshop and Notre Dame Theatre. She would like to thank her family, friends, and directors for always believing her and Tracy for helping give her this opportunity.”

Evelyn Twarowski is preforming at the Shubert for the first time and she couldn’t be more excited. She’s been doing theatre since she was 7 and this year, she is a senior. She is a part of the West Haven Theatre Workshop and Notre Dame Theatre. Evelyn plans on attending theatre school in New York after graduation. She would like to thank her directors for all the opportunities, her family (especially her twin sister) and her friends for always supporting her dreams

Elleddy Thony is a sophomore who attends Sacred Heart Academy. She participates in theater, orchestra, and is an active member in her community. She enjoys writing, spending time with her friends, and baking. She thanks her family and friends for their continuous support.
