Event Details
This spring, New Haven Ballet brings a special children’s edition of the beloved classical ballet The Sleeping Beauty to the stage of the Shubert Theatre.
Created especially for young audiences and families, this thoughtfully adapted version preserves the magic and grandeur of the original while offering an accessible, engaging theatrical experience. Set to the luminous score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, The Sleeping Beauty tells a timeless story of fate, courage, and transformation as fairies shape a kingdom’s destiny and a princess comes of age in an enchanted world of dance.
This performance is part of a dynamic mixed bill. The featured ballet, The Sleeping Beauty, is complemented by additional works performed by New Haven Ballet’s Shared Ability artists, as well as select contemporary and Broadway-inspired pieces. Together, the program highlights the full artistic range of the School.
The production features dancers ages 4 to 18, offering audiences the joy of seeing young performers at every stage of their training share the stage in a professional theater setting.
Presented by Artistic Director Lisa Kim, this family-friendly afternoon at the ballet is perfect for first-time theatergoers and seasoned dance lovers alike.
Show Running Time
Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including one intermisson.
